Development of the “Ecology” descriptor in the context of the environmental impact assessment of Seven Quarries

The scope of the ecology descriptor analysis covers various natural components with the aim of correctly analysing potential impacts arising from the various stages of the project. BoG is the company responsible for developing the ecology component (flora, vegetation, and fauna). This component comprises field work to survey the species of flora and fauna that are present, characterisation of the reference situation based on the data collected in the field, impact assessment and the establishment of impact minimisation measures, and, if necessary, the implementation of a monitoring plan.

BoG is responsible for this descriptor in the following Environmental Impact Assessments, which have been developed as part of the respective licensing processes:

• Quarry in Oliveira de Azeméis;
• Quarry in Penafiel – Gomarães;
• Four quarries in Rosém;
• Quarry in Penafiel – Perozelo (expansion).
