Provision of services for the development of the “Marking of the Footpath Network on the Island of Santiago” project, as part of the Nature Tourism Programme, in Cape Verde. This project is funded by the Cape Verde Ministry of Tourism and Transport, through the Cape Verde Tourism Institute, and will run until June 2022.
The project comprises the cartographic, digital, photographic, and physical signposting survey of a main route, which crosses the whole island from north to south and of complementary routes with branches in all the municipalities, incorporating the identification of historical, ethnographical, and natural heritage, the existing communities and the services on offer, as well as its promotion via a series of virtual communities specialised in trekking, mountain biking, and trail running. In conjunction with the project’s development partners, BoG is responsible for the implementation of these activities.
