The Study of Major Environmental Constraints is intended to be a support for decision-making and is designed to ensure that the most relevant major environmental constraints in the area have been identified in advance. The main objective of this project was to carry out a preliminary assessment of the main environmental constraints in the area in question, with a view to the future installation of a photovoltaic power station. The area covers the municipalities of Abrantes, Chamusca, and Constância.

The work carried out by BoG includes the assessment of the study area and its compliance with the planning and land use planning regulations in force in the area under study, as well as the analysis of environmental restrictions and public utility easements. For this purpose, based on field work and bibliographic research in the databases available from public entities, as well as through the interpretation of orthophotomaps, the major environmental constraints charter and its supporting explanatory document are produced.
