Technical training – theoretical and practical component – with a total duration of 1,440 hours for laboratory technicians and Year 10, 11, and 12 teachers in the areas of physics, chemistry, and biology in 18 secondary schools in Angola: one school per province, with a total of 54 laboratories. The main objective of this training programme is to provide students with the necessary technical skills to carry out laboratory activities in the classroom setting, thus promoting student learning of theoretical content set out in the National Education Programme for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
BoG is responsible for the technical side of all training, which includes preparation, discussion, and presentation of the training curriculum plan; production of content for the various training courses (training manual for laboratory technicians and teachers, experimental protocol for students, etc.); promotion of training courses for laboratory technicians and teachers; monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of all training courses. This training programme is carried out as part of the project “Secondary schools’ laboratories equipment, including its installation and the training of users”, financed by the African Development Bank (ADB).
